MEMORYSCAPE

Nicosia, Cyprus – Romanian artist Ana Gabriela Șerban is pleased to present MEMORYSCAPE, a solo exhibition exploring landscapes of memory, emotion, and transformation through contemporary painting.

Taking place from July 1–3, 2026, at Artos Cultural and Research House in Nicosia, the exhibition brings together a selection of recent works that move between abstraction and figuration, creating immersive visual spaces where personal recollections, emotional experiences, and imagined landscapes intersect.

MEMORYSCAPE investigates the fluid nature of memory and the ways in which identity is shaped through experience. Through expressive brushwork, layered compositions, and vibrant chromatic relationships, the exhibition invites viewers to navigate spaces where memories emerge, dissolve, and reconfigure themselves over time.

The paintings range from atmospheric landscapes and abstract compositions to portraits that evoke introspection and emotional resonance. Rather than depicting specific places, the works construct psychological territories where color becomes a language of remembrance, transformation, and connection.

"Memory is never static. It shifts, fades, returns, and transforms itself through time. Through painting, I explore these emotional landscapes and the traces they leave within us," says Ana Gabriela Șerban.
