Μια βραδιά αφιερωμένη στον σύγχρονο "βωβό κινηματόγραφο" και τον πειραματικό ήχο.  

Μετά τη μεγάλη επιτυχία του Moving Silence Nicosia Berlin τα τελευταία έντεκα χρόνια στο ARTos House, το Moving Silence πραγματοποιείται για δωδέκατη συνεχή χρονιά σε συνεργασία με το Goethe-Institut Cyprus.  

Την Πέμπτη 24 Νοεμβρίου 2022 στις 20:30 στο Artos House, μουσικοί και συνθέτες θα συναντηθούν για να ερμηνεύσουν ζωντανά soundtracks για βωβές βίντεο και ταινίες σύγχρονων δημιουργών της επιλογής τους.  

Το κοινό θα έχει μια μοναδική εμπειρία όπου οι μουσικοί-συνθέτες θα ερμηνεύουν ζωντανά τη μουσική τους ενώ ταυτόχρονα θα προβάλλονται οι ταινίες/βίντεο που τους ενέπνευσαν.  

"Κάθε εικόνα μπορεί να επωφεληθεί από μια ηχητική γλώσσα, χρησιμοποιώντας προηγμένες ψηφιακές τεχνολογίες καθώς και κλασσικές αναλογικές τεχνικές. Οι ζωντανές ερμηνείες στηρίζουν και ενισχύουν τις ταινίες. Οι μουσικοί μπορούν να δώσουν νέα πνοή στον βωβό κινηματογράφο, ο οποίος αδόκιμα παρέμεινε σιωπηλός για τόσο μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα".  

Ενθαρρύνοντας τη συνεργασία και τις ανταλλαγές μεταξύ μουσικών, καλλιτεχνών και κινηματογραφιστών, η πλατφόρμα Moving Silence, λοιπόν, προσκαλεί το κυπριακό κοινό σε νέες οπτικοακουστικές εμπειρίες που εκφράζονται μέσα από ζωντανούς αυτοσχεδιασμούς και ερμηνείες, όπου η πειραματική εικόνα και ο ήχος αναμένεται να συναντηθούν με ασυνήθιστους και απροσδόκητους τρόπους.  

**Τι είναι το Moving Silence;**  

Το Moving Silence ιδρύθηκε αρχικά το καλοκαίρι του 2009 από τον μουσικό Marco Brosolo, τον κινηματογραφιστή Matthias Fritsch και τον παραγωγό Federico Bassetti με στόχο τη δημιουργία εκδηλώσεων που συνδέουν τις ρίζες της κινηματογραφίας με τη σημερινή αισθητική της εικόνας, τη ζωντανή μουσική παραγωγή και τις δυνατότητες της νέας τεχνολογίας.  

Αποτελεί μια ποιητική, διαπολιτισμική και συνεργατική προσπάθεια σε καιρούς υπερφόρτωσης με πληροφορίες.  

Αγκαλιάζει τον πειραματισμό και τη συγχώνευση μεταξύ των σύγχρονων μορφών εικόνας και ήχου προσκαλώντας καλλιτέχνες από διάφορα μέρη του κόσμου να συμμετάσχουν.  

Οι εκδηλώσεις Moving Silence έχουν πραγματοποιηθεί σε διάφορες πόλεις της Ευρώπης.

An evening dedicated to contemporary “silent” moving image and experimental sound.  

Following the great success of Moving Silence Nicosia-Berlin for the past eleven years at ARTos, Moving Silence takes place for the twelve consecutive year in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Cyprus.  

On Thursday, 24 November 2022 at 20:30 at Artos House, musicians and composers will meet to perform live soundtracks for silent video and film works by contemporary creators of their choice.  

The audience will have a unique experience where the musicians-composers perform live their music while the films/videos that have inspired them are simultaneously screened.  

"Any visual style can profit from a sound language, by using advanced digital technologies as well as clasic analogue techniques. Live performances sustain and amplify the films as musicians can breathe new life into silent cinema, which inappropriately remained silent for such a long time."  

Encouraging collaboration and exchange between musicians, artists and cinematographers, the Moving Silence platform therefore invites the Cyprus audience to new audiovisual experiences expressed through live improvisations and interpretations, where experimental image and sound are expected to meet in unusual and unexpected ways.  

**What is Moving Silence?**  

Moving Silence was originally founded in the summer of 2009 by musician Marco Brosolo, filmmaker Matthias Fritsch and producer Federico Bassetti with the aim to create events that connect the roots of cinematography with the present aesthetics of image, the live music production and the potential of new technology.  

It constitutes a poetic, intercultural and collaborative attempt in times of information overload.  

It embraces experimentation and merging between contemporary forms of visual and sound inviting artists from different parts of the world to join in.  

Moving Silence events have taken place in different cities around Europe.
